PTA

Who is the PTA?

 PTA is a Parent Teacher Association that’s primary focus is to engage parents, teachers and students in meaningful activities that promote a positive school and home connection. PTA is also a group of dedicated moms, dads, teachers, and professionals that serve the school in many, many ways! PTA strives to create a school community that is collaborative, committed, diverse, respectful and accountable!

 What does the PTA do?

 LOTS and LOTS and LOTS!!!!

 PTA plans and hosts school events that encourage school and family community building. Events such a Pastries and Parents, Fall Festival, Winter and Spring Break Reading Challenges are held to bring parents, teachers and students together. PTA also helps to raise funds to support academics and school events.

 When and where does PTA meet to plan/enact activities?

 PTA holds 4-5 General Meetings annually. General meetings are typically held after school from 3:30-4:30 in the library. 

 Upcoming General Meetings will be scheduled throughout the year. Annual PTA board nominations and elections take place at the March and April General Meetings.

 Why does PTA do what they do?

 PTA strives to make the school environment fun by creating events that bring families together. Whether it be Fall Festival or Reading Challenge the goal is always making happy home and school connections!

 We also aim to generously give back to our school and local community in any way that we can! Through fundraisers like the Fall Festival, the Batterman PTA has given back over $50,000 to support educational and school wide goals. Many thanks to our amazing families! 

 How does PTA go about keeping the school and community involved with each other?

 Each family event we plan and organize promotes the connection between the school and the community. For example, at Family Movie night all families are invited to come and enjoy a free movie with fellow Batterman Bears. By providing free or low cost events the community and school are connected.

 As part of broadening our vision for helping the local Las Vegas community, PTA has partnered with local businesses within the area to support both the business and the PTA with events such as "What's For Dinner?" Third Thursdays.
